Saquon Barkley, who is cursed with having to play for the Giants, had to be driven to the locker room after suffering a knee injury against the Bears. As soon as he went down, Barkley started punching the turf in agony. The running back was helped off the field, and taken back for x-rays on a cart. The knee injury happened on play after Barkley appeared to hurt his left arm or wrist on a run.

The Giants ruled Barkley out for the game.

Meanwhile, an armada of notable players around the league also left the early games with injuries. San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was carted off with a knee injury, and his teammate Solomon Thomas suffered the same fate. Indianapolis Colts receiver Parris Campbell was also carted off with a knee injury. Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock is out with a shoulder injury after a Pittsburgh Steelers defender Bud Dupree flattened him. Bears running back David Montgomery, Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones, and Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr all departed to the locker room with various injuries. Woof.

Update (2:39 p.m. ET): The 49ers are falling apart.
