Ali is a Southern-raised, Brooklyn-based food writer, recipe developer, and Thai historian who grew up around her family’s restaurant. When her family pushed her away from culinary school (fearing she'd end up stuck in the family business), she dove straight into food studies instead—only to find herself thinking and writing about Thai food and restaurants for a living anyways.
